The Schlicher Family Opens Their Hearts & Home

Seven-year-olds Judith and Cohen Schlicher carefully examine the game card held by their 11-year-old brother, Chandler. They whisper conspiringly at one another to determine which “Beat The Parents” trivia question they will ask their parents, Rob and Andrée. Laughter ensues when the parents give the wrong answer.
From the complicity between the children, one would never guess that Judith has been adopted. “We all have dark hair, dark skin and she has strawberry red hair, a face full of freckles and fair skin,” Andrée says. “But from day one, you could swear she had been in the house forever. From the moment she met me, she said, ‘I’m gonna call you Mama.’”
