Lafayette Hosts Community Pinwheels for Prevention Garden

LAFAYETTE– Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana, local volunteers and local partners will plant 2,000 pinwheels at The Park at the Horse Farm, 2913 Johnston St., to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month and celebrate happy, healthy children. A press conference will be held at the Pinwheel Garden Tuesday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. with local dignitaries speaking. Local partners to be represented are Lafayette Central Park (Horse Farm), CASA of South Louisiana, the state Department of Children and Family Services, The Picard Center, Hearts of Hope, and Acadiana Family Tree. All Lafayette residents are invited to attend and celebrate Lafayette Parish children and families. The pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention and represents happy, healthy children. Across the country, pinwheels are planted in gardens to raise awareness and show support for children and families.
