2015 Engineering & Technology Expo

Sponsored by University of Louisiana at Lafayette

This is the University's largest recruiting event with over 50 schools, 200+ individuals, and 50 companies (industries) registered. There will be about 2,000 visitors on campus. The UL College of Engineering and the UL Student Chapter of the Louisiana Engineering Society, LES, would like to invite you to our annual Engineering and Technology Expo Day on Wednesday, March 11, 2015! This E&T Expo is an opportunity for interested students to tour UL’s College of Engineering and get a “close up” look at what UL has to offer in the fields of engineering and technology. This is the most comprehensive tour that the college has to offer. As you are led on a tour through our labs and classrooms you are able to see all of the equipment and research projects that our students work with everyday. Not only are you able to interact with current students and faculty, but also many companies that hire engineers will be on campus showcasing their businesses. The E&T Expo will give you an idea of what engineers do and what types of careers are available to today’s engineering graduate. The LES students and the College of Engineering are planning a fun and exciting day, as we strive to help students discover the importance of engineering and technology in today’s society and consider the many career possibilities available to them. This invitation is primarily for high school students, especially those interested in math and science, although all students are welcome. Teachers, principals, parents, and counselors are also welcome as this is a great opportunity for a field trip. More details about the day of the event are available on the College of Engineering’s website on the Prospective Student page. Interested students will be able to participate in student competitions. Please note that the Egg Drop and Balsa Wood Bridge contests require that students build a device before E&T Expo Day and bring it with them to the event. These devices will need to be impounded before the event. We encourage all faculty and students to attend Engineering & Technology Expo Day on March 11, 2015. To facilitate event planning, we request that interested teachers and/or counselors register for the event with an estimated number of attendees by March 1, 2015 if possible. If you have any questions regarding the event or would like additional information, please refer to the E&T Webpage, e-mail us at, or contact the College of Engineering at (337) 482-6685.
