The Historic Delta Grand Theatre is proud to announce the newest production of the theatre’s youth theatre education program The Delta Grand Youth Company: the world premiere of Something-Summer Might-Have-Been, a play for young actors by Massachusetts playwright Ben Jolivet. Avril is furious when Summer backs out of their annual trip to the lake—until she discovers that a mysterious Something has taken her Summer away. With the help of their friend Los and a flock of nameless kids known as Might-Have-Beens, Avril goes in search of Summer. Along the way, she comes face-to-face with underworld lairs, strange tests, the end of everything, and the discovery that nothing (not even the end) is all one thing. But can Avril save Summer before the Something turns them all into Nothing? It may take everything Avril has—and more—to win. Something-Summer Might-Have-Been is a world premiere play commissioned specifically by the Delta Grand Theatre for this production. This is a first of its kind commission for the Delta, and a program unlike any in Acadiana. The cast will feature actors from the Delta Grand Youth Company and the production will be directed by local veteran actor and director, Debbi Ardoin. Showtime is April 4 & 5 at 7pm and April 6 at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.deltagrandtheatre.com or by phone at 337-407-1806.
