A huge welcome back is in order for the New Iberia Police Department. The boys in blue were officially sworn in on Tuesday, June 19 at 2 p.m. at City Hall. It must be noted that the weather that day can only be described as ”sweltering” and “steamy.” Even in these subtropical conditions, the community showed up in droves. A true testament to the excitement and support surrounding the reinstatement of the police department. You can read the full story “The New Iberia Police Department – Version 2.0” on Page 11.
You may have noticed from our subtle cover, which is giving us major “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” vibes, that it’s officially time to introduce the 2018 Stars of Style honorees. I have said before that last year’s group of honorees started a unique energy in the community that is still holding strong. I can already tell that this group is going to perpetuate that momentum. Head to Page 19 for all of the event details and to get to know the 23 honorees. Don’t forget to vote for Top of the Crop – the voting link is in the article as well as on our Facebook page and the Stars of Style Facebook page.
The Louisiana Press Association Awards were held this month. Acadiana LifeStyle won seven awards. We are long-time participants in the LPAs, and the recognition is always an honor. However, this year, our production team was the star of the show. Our wins: Second Place – Best Feature Story, Third Place – Best Photo Package, First and Second Place – Best Ad Campaign, Second Place – In-Paper Promotion, First and Third Place – Best Multiple Advertiser Page.
