The Grevemberg House Museum will be decorated in the Victorian fashion with toys and dolls, Christmas tree, garlands and floral arrangements. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors & students and $5 for children ages 12 and under.

The Cajun Coast towns of Morgan City, Patterson and Franklin celebrate the season with a trail of lights, historic houses decorated in holiday finery, parades, an arts & crafts show and sale, concerts and more.

Christmas Lights in the Park

Shadows Merry Making Season

Throughout December, the Shadows-on-the-Teche will be dressed for the holidays in greenery highlighted with fruits, nuts and berries along with colorful decorations, antique toys and a Christmas tree decorated with period ornaments. Seasonal tours, focusing on holiday celebrations in the nineteenth century, will be offered during the Shadows normal operating hours.

Experience Chorale Acadienne’s annual Christmas concert featuring the Rutter Gloria and selections from Handel’s Messiah as well as traditional carols of the season. 

Abbeville’s Annual Christmas Stroll

Downtown Abbeville 

A family-oriented evening of strolling, visiting, shopping and dining including Santa Claus, music and white lights all within the beautifully decorated downtown historic district. 

Opelousas Children’s Christmas Parade

Dec. 7 @ 6 p.m.

Downtown Opelousas 

The 2017 Opelousas Children’s Christmas Parade features entertainment, music, home town schools and most importantly a special visit from Santa and friends. Parade begins at St. Landry Catholic Church at 6 p.m., and concludes at 8 p.m.

Lafayette’s own Chas Justus & the Jury are joining Austin’s own Asleep at the Wheel for a special Christmas show at the AcA in Downtown Lafayette. 

Southern Sleigh Ride

Dec. 8 @5:30-9 p.m.

Main Street, New Iberia 

Horse drawn carriage rides will begin at the Sahdows on the Teche and go all the way down Main Street. It will be $10 for kids and $15 for adults. 

Living Bethlehem

Dec. 8 - 10 @ 7 p.m.

Sugar Mill Pond Town Center,

The Living Bethlehem is a live nativity drama, held outdoors at Sugar Mill Pond and features a cast of children, live animals and a children’s choir.

Delcambre Christmas Boat Parade

Dec. 9 @ 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.

411 S. Richard St., Delcambre 

Delcambre hosts a full day of holiday-themed activities including a 5K that starts at 7 a.m., and  Pancakes with Santa from 8 - 10 a.m. at the Delcambre Shrimp Festival Building. Activities begin at 5 p.m. at the Old Boat Dock including a Boat Parade that begins at 6:30 p.m. with fireworks following the parade.

Abbeville’s Holiday Garage Sale

Dec. 9 @ 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Magdalen Square, Abbeville 

Held in conjunction with the December Farmers’ Market, several vendors will have items for sale. A majority of the proceeds benefit the Abbeville murals project. 

Very Berry Christmas Quest

Dec. 9 @ 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce 

111 W. Main St., New Iberia 

The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Downtown Business Association and Iberia Travel, will be hosting family-friendly activities to celebrate the Christmas season in Iberia Parish. Families will pick up Christmas hats, goody bags filled with coupons and holiday treats, and their punch cards that track the activities they participate in throughout the day. Completed cards will be entered in a drawing to win prizes.

Main Street Christmas Parade

Dec. 9 @ 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Main Street, New Iberia 

Enjoy events throughout the day, including the Teche Area Farmers Market, Food Truck Festival, Christmas music and performances, crafts vendors and lighting of the Community Christmas Tree.

Abbeville Christmas Parade

Dec. 9 @ 6 p.m.

Downtown Abbeville 

Enjoy floats decorated for Christmas, marching bands playing holiday favorites and an appearance by Santa Claus.

Shadows Holiday Craft Fair

Dec. 9 @ 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.


317 E. Main St., New Iberia

Vendors from around Louisiana will display and sell their original work. From crochet to copper embossing, to bath products and tea-dyed chenille bunnies, to fine art and baby booties, the amazing designs will be a feast for the senses. Admission to the fair is $5 per person (12 and older) and $3 for children (ages 6-11), and includes a special “Merry-Making Season” tour of the Shadows. 

TABASCO presents A Taste of Christmas

Dec. 9 @ 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Jungle Gardens, Avery Island 

The annual event is a Christmas-themed festival filled with games and activities the whole family can participate in. Activities will include Hot Chocolate Bar, Santa Photo Opp, Gingerbread Decorating with Mrs. Claus, a Trolley ride through Jungle Gardens and more.

Presents The Nutcracker

A Holiday Celebration for the entire family in Historic St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church Square in the historic downtown St. Martinville.  Food, Arts & Crafts, Music, Mass, Christmas Parade, Storytelling in French, all leading up to the Lighting of the Church Square at sundown.  Christmas Parade runs along Main Street at 2 p.m.
