In Acadiana, there is always a reason to celebrate. There’s a festival dedicated to just about everything, and with good reason – the food, heritage, music, wildlife, land and people are unparalleled to anywhere else in the world.  As the temperatures starts to cool down, the festivals begin to heat up. So, brace yourselves, fall festivals are coming.

Gueydan Duck Festival 

Date: August 27-30

Location: 404 Dallas Guidry Road, Gueydan 

Admission: Thursday night admission is free.

Can’t Miss: “The entertainment is going to be extra special this year. 

The band lineup is outstanding.” 

Festival in Three Words: Unique, Fun, Exciting.

Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival 

Date: September 3-7

Location: Downtown Historic District of Morgan City 

Admission: Free


Can’t Miss: “Blessing of the fleet, musical performances, mass in the 

park, fireworks, carnival and arts and crafts.”

Festival in Three Words: Fun family tradition. 

Rougarou Fest 

Date: October 24-25

Location: Downtown Houma

Admission: Free

Rougarou Run where runners are chased by zombies.”

Festival in Three Words: Celebrating Louisiana folklore. 

Lydia Cajun Food Fest 

Date: September 11-12

Location: Weeks Park, Lydia 

Admission: Donation at Gate


Can’t Miss: “The Fais Do Do, live music and hot air balloon rides.” 

Festival in Three Words: Family, Food, Fun. 

Sugar Cane Festival 

Date: September 23-27

Location: New Iberia, Louisiana 

Admission: $10 Friday and Saturday Night

Festivals Acadiens et Creoles 

Date: October 7-11

Location: Girard Park, Vermilionville and Acadiana Center for 

the Arts, Lafayette 

Admission: Girard Park and Vermilionville – Free 

Acadiana Center for the Arts – Ticketed 


Can’t Miss: “This year’s theme is the celebration of the ‘250th Anniversary 

of the Acadiens Landing in Louisiana.’ You can’t miss any of it!”

Festival in Three Words: It’s About Heritage. 

St. Martinville Kiwanis Club Pepper Festival 

Date: September 18-19

Location: St. Martinville Festival Grounds 

Admission: $5

Can’t Miss: “Great entertainment, barbecue cook off, 5K run, 

pepper-eating contest, exciting carnival rides, spicy food and ice cold beer.”
