Millions of people use Twitter to get news, share information or see what others around the world are doing. The Periscope app is a great new tool that lets users show other Twitter users what they’re seeing live through their iPhone camera. With a seamless Twitter interface, Periscope lets users see a wide slice of life ranging from the amateur journalist wannabes to product reviewers and more. Periscope is getting great reviews as the hottest new live-stream app, and we bet readers will have a lot of fun with it. Cost: Free.
Google Calendar is the latest addition to the wide range of Google apps (others include the ever-popular Gmail, Hangouts and Google Maps, just to name a few). Full integration of Gmail allows you to automatically add to your Google Calendar dates from any e-mail containing date-sensitive information, like that reminder for your upcoming haircut, hotel reservation or flight. We really like the “Schedule View,” which lets users see all their calendar items at a glance, with illustrations and photos to add visual interest. With a clean design and ease of use, we think you’ll get a lot of use out of Google Calendar. Cost: Free.
