March: Social Lights

LARC’s Acadian Village hosted the Color Vibe 5K race followed by a Cajun Mardi Gras Celebration on February 22. The event benefitted the LARC organization, which assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with their vocational and residential needs. The Color Vibe race is a color blast 5k with various colored powder stations for runners to enjoy along the route. After the race, participants enjoyed a traditional courir de Mardi Gras, mini parade, educational Mardi Gras traditions and activities, arts and crafts, a beads drive, live Cajun music and local food promoted by food trucks. Runners hope to see the same event happen for next year’s Mardi Gras season.
