Hi Sugar! Pick up your copy of our 2012 Festival Fun Guide! Savor the difference and sweeten your weekend at the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival and Fair Sept. 26 - 30, 2012 in New Iberia. This year marks “71 years of Celebrating Sugar!”

The festival honors the cane growers, mill operators and others in the industry with ceremonies, parties, parades, royalty, exhibits, and dancing in the streets. Set in historic New Iberia, the event has small town charm and features top notch entertainment.

Our Festival Fun Guide features a listing of fun events, Queen Sugar contestants, the Fais-Do-Do lineup at Bouligny Plaza, great photos and so much more! Pick it up at local banks, restaurants, grocery stores, The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce, Iberia Parish Tourist Commission, local hotels and the library. How sweet it is!

The Sugar Cane Festival Livestock Show is open to 4-H and FFA members from the designated sugar cane producing parishes. Beef Breeding, Market Lamb, Market Goat classes, as well as a Commercial Heifer Show, and the Rabbit Show are open to junior exhibitors from the sugar cane producing parishes. Baby Beef/Steer, Market Hog, Iberia Market Goat and Iberia Market Lamb exhibition is restricted to Iberia exhibitors only. The Iberia Market Animal Sale & Auction begins at 2 p.m. Saturday. 8 a.m. – 4-H Sugar Cookery Contest Registration – Cyr-Gates Community Center, 300 Parkview Dr., New Iberia City Park.
11 a.m. – 4-H Sugar Cookery Contest Awards presented to winners. Cyr-Gates Community Center, 300 Parkview Dr., New Iberia City Park.
11:30 a.m. – Judging of Best Decorated Storefronts & Residences in celebration of the Sugar Festival and Industry – Judging is throughout the city of New Iberia. To insure inclusion, call 337-369-9323.
2 p.m. – Sugar Cane Exhibit – opens for public viewing – Cyr-Gates Community Center, 300 Parkview Dr., New Iberia City Park.

Official Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival Merchandise will be available at Sir Speedy (910 S. Lewis Ave.), Advertec (206A E. Main St.), Walgreens (1102 Parkview) and All About You (at its new location near Stage on Admiral Doyle Drive.) Caps and posters will be for sale at Sir Speedy & Advertec. Merchandise will also be available at the Souvenir Tent in Bouligny Plaza during Festival Week.
